Fragrances to Try

Have your ever associated a certain fragrance to a specific person? The sense of smell has a strong recognition and affinity to specific people, memories and places that is why most people stick to a signature scent when they have found the one that is compatible to their body chemistry and personality.

I was told that it is advisable to change perfumes during season changes. Musky scents work well for colder weather while light, floral and fruity scents are perfect for summer or spring. You can always have more than one perfume in your dresser – you do not need to buy them at full price when you can get them at a fraction of their prices at LuxuryParlor.com. They also offer free shipping from any orders over $50. Choose from high end perfumes like alvin Klein, Cartier, Escada, Issey Miyake, Hugo Boss, Moschino, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Yves Saint Laurent and many more.

Here are some of the most popular scents:
1. Burberry
I have only tried the Burbery Weekend and Burberry Summer. Both of these are perfumes of my sister.

2. Calvin Klein
I remember this was a popular brand of perfume when I was in highschool. I remember a lot of men wearing CK for Men way back. CK One is always a bestseller though.

Perfumes

Perfumes have been used since the ancient times. In Egypt, perfumes were used mostly by the Pharaohs and Gods for religious and spiritual reasons. It was during the Golden Age of Egypt that perfume became available for all to use. These perfumes were mostly emollients and creams. The first liquid perfumes were invented by the Greeks, fragrant powders mixed with heavy oils, without any alcohol.

It was during the 20th center that perfumes became mass-produced. There are now five different categories of perfumes available. Perfume, Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette, Eau de Cologne, and Eau Fraiche. They are categorized by the percentage of essential oils found in the fragrance; perfume containing the most.

There are also different inspirations where perfumes gets from. Taking inspiration from the various flowers from nature’s bounty, the most feminine of fragrances are created. Popular amongst these is the rose, lavender, lilac or the more unique orchid fragrances. There are those who prefer scents such as fruit related or more exotic flavors such as cinnamon or fruity things like citrus bursts.

The two most common categories of perfumes selling in the market are the Eau de Parfum (EDP) and Eau de Toilette (EDT).

1. Eau de Parfum
Eau de Parfum (EDP) is a type of perfume which is made from a combination of ethanol and water, with a medium to high concentration of perfumed (ethanol) oil in comparison to the water or alcohol content of the solution. This variety of perfume contains 10% – 20% (typical 15%) fragrance oil. The EDP also provides a long-lasting fragrance and depending on the dryness of your skin, a few drops of EDP should last from morning until night

2. Eau de Toilette
This is a type of perfume with a medium to low concentration of perfumed (fragrance) oil. EDT contains 5% – 15% (typical 10%) fragrance oil. It generally contains more water than ethanol and is less expensive because it is less concentrated; that also means that it does not last as long. If you love to wear perfume all day, you will probably find that you need to carry bottles of EDT around town because you will need to reapply it often to keep the aroma fresh.

You can get perfume importado (imported perfumes) from Levata, which has a tagline of Perfumes Importados 100% Originais (Imported Perfumes 100% original). The Letter is P.

I am Peggy and I love to delight and amuse myself with anything artistically visual. I spend many hours on Etsy and either send money, get frustrated because I do not have money and wish I was talented with anything other than having the talent to spot nice things.

Which I think all people inherently have.

I love to shop. I love to window shop. Online.
