MAC Holiday Collection 2012: Glamour Daze

THE AURA OF COUTURE, THE DRAMA OF THE DRESSING ROOM, THE GLAMOUR OF GETTING READY TO STEP OUT FOR THE HOLIDAYS. SWEET TO SEXY, LIPS TO NAILS. AN UNFORGETTABLE LOOK EMERGES WITH THE SHIMMER OF M·A·C EXTRA DIMENSION SKINFINISH AND POWDER BLUSH. EVENING EYES ARE DONE IN EXTRA DIMENSION EYE SHADOW, FLUIDLINE AND FALSE LASHES. AND, THE FESTIVE FINISHING TOUCHES: LIPGLASS IN PINK FADE AND NAIL LACQUER IN ENDLESS NIGHT.

Please give me one of those hjc helmets sale since I am about to indulge and buy this collection. I have always loved dramatic eyes – I have naturally small eyes and even if I want to get away with the barely there look everyday, I still need to do a bit of sprucing up with eyeliners in my eye area. This collection makes me think of my Mom too :)

Breast Cancer Awareness: Clinique Thinks Pink

Clinique has come out with this fabulous Limited Edition Plumped Up Pink Chubby Stick for BCA month!

When you buy the Chubby Stick, you also get a cute little makeup bag (in pink, of course) that has a heart-shaped charm with the iconic pink ribbon inside it.

So the set is $16 and $3 from each purchase will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Clinique is also offering up their already fabulous Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion with an adorably cute charm on it for $36, with $10 going to the BCA Foundation.

Fall Make-up Trends: Black Cherry Lipstick

The crimson hue is the trend right now with cooler weathers coming. And I am not talking about red “Marilyn Monroe” hues but vampire-ish colors.

Think black red like this one worn by Zoe Saldana:

It has taken a vampier turn with black cherry. This shade goes so deep it’s almost black but unlike the other vampy fall makeup must-have (think Azealia Banks’s trademark pout), this one still holds onto its red roots. You are definitely going to be needing some good brew supplies for this!

Black Cherry Lipsticks to try:
Dolce & Gabbana The Lipstick in Ultra
Milani Color Perfect Lipstick in Black Cherry
NYX Lipstick in Black Cherry
MAC Lipstick in Hang Up
Nars Lipstick in Scarlet Empress
Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick in Hellbent
Dior Rouge Dior Lipcolor in Hypnotic Red
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Black Dahlia

Tips on Putting on False Eyelashes

Kim Kardashian Smokey Eye

Thanks to Katy Perry and the Kardashians, wearing false eyelashes is back and becoming a trend, thanks to their overly extended and luscious lashes! I honestly cannot stand wearing falsies for a long time since my eyes tend to twitch when tired. And if there is something heavy weighing on them, they twitch even more. I’d need duracell procell aa batteries for my eyes I think :) . Fortunately, the falsies available in the market today are light so wearing them all day is easier!

1. Look for ones that are light with some space in between the lashes, to better blend with your real lashes.
2. Use only a small amount of glue when putting on fake eyelashes, you should put them on starting with the interior of your eye moving outward.
3. Put eyeliner on before you put your lashes on. Liquid liner is best because it’s thick and can hide the space between your false lashes and your real ones.
4. The best way to keep them looking natural is to first place the false lash on your eye BEFORE putting on the glue. While looking in the mirror, notice where your eyelashes end and the false lashes begin. Then take a tiny pair of scissors and trim the lashes to match your own (make sure to remove the false eyelash from your eye BEFORE doing this).
5. Once you have the lashes on, simply put mascara over both your false eyelashes and your real ones, to bind them together.

Mastering the No-Makeup Look

I love make-up! But I still do not know how to apply them beautifully. I have always wanted to learn how to apply the barely-there no make-up look. And almost every make-up artist would tell me the same thing: Start and invest in good skin. Like a good car, lamborghini custom floor mats would still not look good if it is not clean.

Here are some tips too:
1. Shop for a foundation that matches you exact shade.
2. Shop for a great concealer.
For things like redness, uneven skin tone, sallowness, sometimes special types of concealer are required.

Problem: Undereye bluish veins
Color Solution for Light/Med Skin: Light peach/salmon
Color Solution for Med/Dark Skin: Honey yellow/salmon/orange

Problem: Undereye red/bluish (looks purplish)
Color Solution for Light/Med Skin: Yellow/light peach/salmon
Color Solution for Med/Dark Skin: Honey yellow/salmon

Problem: Undereye dark brown/reddish
Color Solution for Light/Med Skin: Yellow/light peach
Color Solution for Med/Dark Skin: Honey yellow/salmon

3. Blush/Bronzer.

Blush and bronzer both do wonderful things to wake up skin of all colors. To apply bronzer, use this trick I learned from the folks at Estee Lauder: apply in an “E” from the temples, sweeping to the hollows of the cheeks, and then sweep down to the bottom of the jaw for a natural sun-kissed look. Apply blush to the apples of the cheeks.

For more dry and mature skin try creme blush and bronzer.

MAC Me Over Collection

Make-up is unlike any addiction for a friend of mine. If cigarette smokers can turn to an e cigarette for a placebo, I don’t think there are none for make-up addicts. For example, this new collection of MAC called MAC Me Over hit the stores last August 25th, and you can bet my friend has the entire collection already!

This collection is great if you’re a MAC newbie as it really introduces you to a lot of basic products for your stash.
