It seems that themed parties are a trend these days, even with adult parties – and there are a lot of preferred themes too! Rockstar night and an 80s party are two of the most popular themed parties, since dressing up in a rockstar outfit and an 80s trending outfit are easy to assemble.

Staged sound lights and LR Baggs Preamps are part of the center of attraction too! A band playing is even a usual sight!

I am no techie geek, so whenever I encounter problems with my electronic gadgets like the TV, my computer LCD monitor and even my iPhone like stuck pixels and burn in, I seriously do not know how to solve it. It’s a good thing that there is PixelTuneUp that can fix stuck pixels or else I would be replacing gadgets everytime it happens.

I have also been able to find these steps from WikiHow to solve stuck pixels. I have not tried them but I hope they work!

Pressure Method
Turn off your computer’s monitor.
Get yourself a damp washcloth, so that you don’t scratch your screen.
Take a household pen, pencil, screwdriver, or some other sort of instrument with a focused, but relatively dull, point. A very good tool would be a PDA stylus.
Fold the washcloth to make sure you don’t accidentally puncture it and scratch the screen.
Apply pressure through the folded washcloth with the instrument to exactly where the stuck pixel is. Try not to put pressure anywhere else, as this may make more stuck pixels.
While applying pressure, turn on your computer and screen.
Remove pressure and the stuck pixel should be gone. This works as the liquid in the liquid crystal has not spread into each little pixel. This liquid is used with the backlight on your monitor, allowing different amounts of light through, which creates the different colors.

Tapping Method
Turn on the computer and LCD screen.
Display a black image, which will show the stuck pixel very clearly against the background. (It is very important that you are showing a black image and not just a blank signal, as you need the backlighting of the LCD to be illuminating the back of the panel).
Find a pen with a rounded end. A Sharpie marker with the cap on should be fine for this.
Use the rounded end of the pen to gently tap where the stuck pixel is – not too hard to start with, just enough to see a quick white glow under the point of contact. If you didn’t see a white glow, then you didn’t tap hard enough, so use just slightly more pressure this time.
Start tapping gently. Increase the pressure on the taps gradually for 5-10 taps until the pixel rights itself.
Display a white image (an empty text document, or sending your browser to about:blank and going to fullscreen with F11 is good for this) to verify that you haven’t accidentally caused more damage than you fixed.

The Galaxy Tab, Samsung’s answer to Apple’s iPad is one of the best selling tablets to ever reach the market. It’s powered by the latest Android; extremely light and fast because it comes with an SSD instead of a hard drive; and even slightly more portable because it is only 7 inches across compared to the nearly 10-inch iPad. Unfortunately, like the Apple tablet, it comes with a hefty price tag too (cheaper than the iPad though but still pricy nonetheless).

I’ve been meaning to get my hands on one but it’s still out of budget range. Fortunately, according to Samsung, a new version of the Galaxy Tab (Galaxy Tab 2) is about to make its debut sometime during the first quarter of 2011. This means that it’s possible for the Galaxy Tab to go on sale in time for the Christmas season. However, it’s all just still speculation. I’m still waiting for the feather flags and the custom flags of the sale to be put up to confirm my haunch. So until that sale is verified, I still have some time to save up some more for the Galaxy. I just wish I wouldn’t have to wait too long. Keep your fingers crossed.

We almost bought ourselves an HDTV a few days ago. We were at the mall and there were some irresistible deals among HDTVs. The one we were almost tempted to get was a 42 inch LCD TV which you can get with a free sound surround system and DVD player if you pay in cash, and you get it for less. The next deal was too good to be true: If you buy a 42′ LED TV, you get a 32′ LCD TV for free! We would have grabbed it if we hadn’t shopped for new furniture but chances are, we need to pace ourselves. That being said, we will have one of these before Christmas – guaranteed!

One of the things that we have been targeting for a long time for our family is a newer and more reliable car. I have already made it clear to the husband, the under no condition whatsoever, that I need to have an LCD TV for Christmas. It is my one and only wish, surpassing my wish for getting that designer bag I may have finally funds for.

There are great deals during pre-Christmas season sales. We wanted to get one a couple of weeks back because there was a sale on LCD TVs and if you pay in cash you get a home theater system (sound surround + DVD player) for free. But we need to control ourselves and just wait for the bigger cash windfall so we wont have to touch our savings.
