How to Quit Smoking: Steps on How to Stop a Dangerous Habit

Tips to successfully quit smoking.
It is a new year and for sure, majority have made their New Year’s resolution. This list can include a commitment in order to achieve a personal goal, finish a project or a change in lifestyle for self-improvement.

One of the resolution that I am sure most individuals will include in their list is to break a bad habit like smoking. But I am sure I will see a lot of hands raised and they will admit that it is the same resolution that they tried to commit to in the previous years, which obviously they were not able to accomplish.
Smoking is really a bad habit to break that is why some smokers will just quit for just a couple of days or weeks and will soon bounce back to their old ways.

So how to quit smoking? Here are a few tips:

  1. Commit. No other person can motivate you, but yourself. To help you make a commitment in achieving this goal, try to list down the reasons why would you want to quit. Is it because you want to live a healthy lifestyle? Or you want to stop the bad effects that smoking brings, not just to yourself, but to your family (especially your kids) as well. Do you want to set a good example to the people around you? List this down in a sheet of paper and refer to it constantly so that it will serve as your motivation as you go through this difficult phase.
  2. Have a Game Plan. All projects that are successful are a result of careful planning and so trying to quit smoking can be treated as a special project that needs strategizing as well. Here are some things that a smoker can include in his game plan:
  • Those who have successfully quit smoking did not do it overnight and so a smoker must try to do it gradually. A first step would be to designate one day per week as a “No Smoking Day” and slowly increase the frequency of this “No Smoking Day” until you finally can survive a day without taking a cigarette.
  • Find substitutes or diversion that can help you quit like chewing gum, toothpick, mint and the like.
  • Remove all kinds of tobacco in your home and office so you will not be tempted to take the bait.
  1. Try healthy and natural alternatives. Healthy Choice Naturals is an online store that sells all kinds of supplements for men, women and senior like Acai Berry, moringa, krill oil, etc. They also have a lot of products that can help individual with their health issues like hot flashes, low thyroid and more. One of their amazing product is their 7-Day Quit Smoking kit. This is an all-natural formula so its is safe and can help smokers quit in just 7-days without the cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
  2. Seek help from all the people around you. You can’t do this alone and so it is important that you talk to your family, your wife and kids about this so they can motivate you, understand your mood swings (which is likely to happen), give you pep talk, etc to help you achieve your goal.
  3. Join a support group. It is nice to be surrounded by people who are in the same boat as you. Joining a support group can also motivate you as you hear success stories of ex-smokers.

Change must begin in you. With a little determination and a little sacrifice, a smoker would soon find that life is more beautiful without smoking.

I am Peggy and I love to delight and amuse myself with anything artistically visual. I spend many hours on Etsy and either send money, get frustrated because I do not have money and wish I was talented with anything other than having the talent to spot nice things.

Which I think all people inherently have.

I love to shop. I love to window shop. Online.
